UFC commentator Joe Rogan has been forced to evacuate his home due to the California Wildfires. The devastating wildfire, which is now being dubbed the “Woolsey Fire”, has reached Malibu, Calabasas and Agoura, forcing many home owners to evacuate the area.

UFC veteran Chris Leben picked up his first win since 2011 at last nights “WBKFF1: Rise Of The Titans” event, defeating Phil Baroni by way of first-round TKO. “The Crippler” connected with a crisp punch that stunned Phil Baroni just seconds into the opening round. Shortly after that, “The New York Bad Ass” charged forward with a flurry but Chris Leben was able to land a beautiful counter left hand that sent Phil crashing face first into the canvas.

Undefeated welterweight fighter Ben Askren (18-0 MMA) was apparently in talks with Bellator’s Scott Coker just weeks before he was traded to the UFC by ONE Championship. According to the Bellator President, Coker, there were talks between his organization and ONE Championship to do some co-promotion which would have allowed Ben Askren to compete at Bellator’s welterweight grand prix.

Bellator and ONE Championship were talking to Ben Askren before UFC trade

Just a few weeks ago, the UFC and ONE Championship did something no one thought was possible. They agreed to a trade that sent Demetrious Johnson to ONE and Ben Askren to the UFC. However, before that trade happened, ONE Championship reached out to Bellator to see if they would co-promote with them in a deal that would see Askren back in his old home of Bellator. Bellator president Scott Coker was speaking on The Fight Guys podcast where he revealed the news.

Bibiano Fernandes is no longer the ONE Bantamweight World Champion. After a legendary reign that spanned a whopping seven title defenses, he surrendered his belt to Filipino challenger Kevin Belingon in the ONE: HEART OF THE LION main event. Belingon won the fight by split decision after five incredible rounds of action. Although the Filipino succumbed to a few of Fernandes’ takedown attempts, he denied many others, and deftly fought off several submission attempts. On the feet, meanwhile, Belingon was the picture of excellence, punishing the long-time champion’s body with spinning kicks, and dropping him with a massive punch at the end of the third round.

One of Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson’s dreams as a martial artist is set to become a reality when ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong announced at the press conference of ONE: HEART OF THE LION at the Marina Bay Sands last Wednesday, 7 November the eight-man Flyweight World Grand Prix, which will be composed of eight of the best flyweights of the stacked ONE flyweight division. Though Sityodtong has yet to reveal the detailed set up of the tournaments, one thing is for sure, the winner will determine the undisputed champion one way or another.

As the UFC’s purported closure of the division bears down, UFC flyweight Roberto Sanchez has joined Jared Brooks, Justin Scoggins and Jose Torres among those to be released from the promotion. Roberto Sanchez made this announcement on Instagram, sharing his disappointment but also thanking the UFC for the opportunity they gave him.

Borg withdrew from the matchup with an illness. Mike Perry, who trains under the same roof as Ray Borg at JacksonWink MMA, however, isn’t buying that story. He says that the flyweight is faking his illness.
Artem Lobov makes good on promise, returns 20% fine to Michael Johnson

Artem Lobov was originally supposed to fight Zubaira Tukhugov at the UFC’s recent UFC Moncton card. After Tukhugov got involved in the infamous UFC 229 post-fight brawl, however, he was removed from this bout. After a brief scramble, the UFC was able to find a replacement opponent for Artem Lobov in former UFC lightweight contender Michael Johnson. Unfortunately, however, Johnson was unable to make weight for this fight, and was forced to cough up 20% of his fight purse, which was then paid to Lobov.
