Last weekend, UFC Hall of Famers Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz met for a third time. They did so in the main event of the first MMA card promoted by long-time boxing promoter Oscar De La Hoya. While some fight fans were impressed by Oscar De La Hoya’s first MMA offering, Bellator MMA star Chael Sonnen was not. In fact, he’s calling it a ‘disaster.’

Tito Ortiz was finally able to exact some revenge on long time nemesis and fellow MMA legend Chuck Liddell on Saturday night in Los Angeles. After suffering stoppage losses in his first two encounters with the Iceman long ago at UFC 47 and UFC 66, Ortiz was at last able to get the better of Liddell twenty-four hours ago at The Forum in Inglewood.

Rashad Evans was the first of Jon Jones’ targets. Apparently, Evans recently made some comments that implied Jones was using performance-enhancing drugs when they fought, and that Jones’ 2016 fight with Ovince Saint Preux was the only time he’s fought without these substances in the UFC’s Octagon.

While this was a feel-good win for Tito Ortiz, who had been knocked out twice previously by Liddell, it was a tough one to watch for many fans. Liddell, after all, is 48 years old, and had not fought in eight years, since a string of three consecutive knockout losses prompted UFC President Dana White to shepherd him into retirement.
