“I think it goes down similar to how it went down the first time,” Liz Carmouche said of a rematch with Valentina Shevchenko. “The first time I was tricked, honestly, by the commission that I was fighting for, the organization [C3 Fights]. “I was supposed to fight her sister [Antonina], who had just as little experience as I did. Instead, I went against somebody who had 10 years more experience than myself. And it was just at that point, I wasn’t willing to say no for an opportunity to fight so I took it and somehow managed to come out with the win.

UFC bantamweight champ TJ Dillashaw did not agree with his stoppage loss to UFC flyweight champ Henry Cejudo. Ever since the loss, he’s been adamant that the referee intervened too early, and that he should have been given more time recover. Former champ Dominick Cruz, one of Dillashaw’s chief rivals, isn’t impressed with these complaints. “I look at this and say, is this how insignificantly stupid you are?” Cruz said on the the UFC Unfiltered podcast (transcript via MMA Fighting). “To think you complaining and whining about a stoppage is gonna change anything? You just sound like a moron. Like, nothing is gonna change. You might as well just accept what just happened to you and try to grab a hold of your balls instead of run from them and admit the loss. Because you just got knocked out by a [125er]. And you dropped down to a weight class that dried out your brain and you might not have been as durable as you are at 135.”

Speaking to TMZ shortly after St-Pierre’s retirement message, Tyron Woodley revealed that he approached the UFC about a fight with the Canadian legend multiple times, but that St-Pierre turned it down each time.

Last Sunday night at UFC Phoenix, former UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez returned to the cage after nearly three years away, where he battled fearsome heavyweight knockout artist Francis Ngannou. While this fight went rather disastrously for Velasquez — he was stopped in less than thirty seconds and injured his knee — he was at least well compensated for his efforts.
