Report | Conor McGregor arrested on Miami beach

The Miami Herald has reported that former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion, Conor McGregor was arrested in Miami, Florida on Monday. The Irishman is being charged with “strong-armed robbery and misdemeanor criminal mischief” following an incident that saw McGregor smashing a fan’s cell phone according to the report. The incident is believed to have happened around 5:00 AM when the fan was photographing McGregor outside of the Fontainebleau Miami Beach hotel.

After suffering the first three-fight skid of his lengthy 35-fight career, perennial top 10 welterweight contender Demian Maia was able to snap it with a vintage performance at UFC Fortaleza in early February. Maia would waste little time against his opponent, Lyman Good before he found himself sinking in a rear-naked choke to get the first round submission victory.

Over this past weekend, it was confirmed that the Invicta FC featherweight champion Felicia Spencer is officially on her way to the UFC. There is significance in the signing for obvious reasons, because as of the UFC featherweight division’s creation in February 2017, the promotion has only homed two natural 145-pound fighters since then in the former champion, Cris Cyborg, and Megan Anderson.

Okamoto says Cowboy and Diaz chatted about a rematch backstage at UFC 235. Diaz suggested he was up for it, but so long as there was no weight cut involved. That apparently means the fight would have to occur in the 185-pound middleweight division — a weight class neither man has competed in before.
