Paddy Pimblett breaks social media silence with classy statement after UFC 324 loss

UFC lightweight star Paddy Pimblett issued his first public remarks since a disappointing loss at UFC 324 to Justin Gaethje.

For the first time in his UFC career, Paddy Pimblett left the Octagon without a win, as he lost to Justin Gaethje last Saturday at UFC 324. Pimblett’s first shot at a UFC title fell short as Gaethje took home the interim lightweight belt with a unanimous decision victory.

While Pimblett had some impressive moments against Gaethje, the now two-time interim titleholder Gaethje controlled the majority of the exchanges in the cage. It marked Pimblett’s first UFC defeat after recent wins over Michael Chandler and Tony Ferguson.

Pimblett made no excuses in his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan at UFC 324. On social media, Pimblett issued a lengthy statement and is in good spirits.

In a recent Instagram post, Pimblett addressed his fans and followers after UFC 324.

“Hope everyone enjoyed my fight just as much as I did, want to thank everyone that came to support and everyone watching at home,” Pimblett said. “I’m all good no injuries went into the fight feeling amazing had a great camp and an easy weight cut no excuses the better man won on the night.

“Justin, congratulations brother it was an honour to share the cage with such a legend go get that undisputed title ur career deserves it. Hopefully we can run it back for the undisputed because I still know it’s in my destiny to win that gold! UFC thank you for the opportunity yous all know I’ll be back for that belt in the near future.”

Pimblett fell short of a long-anticipated grudge match with Ilia Topuria, a matchup that could come to fruition in the future. For now, Gaethje will fight Topuria later this year as Pimblett prepares to potentially get back in the win column in his next fight.
