Miesha Tate lost her UFC women’s bantamweight title to Amanda Nunes in the main event of UFC 200 last night in Las Vegas.
Nunes was able to batter Tate in the stand-up game before eventually taking her down and scoring the fight-ending rear-naked choke submission in the bouts opening round.
Following the devastating loss, “Cupcake” sent out the following message to her fans while congratulating the newly crowned champion on her remarkable performance:
The fight didn't go as I had planned, Amanda is such a strong and amazing fighter and congratulations to her. Thank you to my loyal supporters, it's nice to have love in victory but it means more in defeat. The past is a place of reference not a place of residence for me and a loss is a learn. I'm going to take some time to regroup, thank you all.
