Jorge Masvidal trashes Kamaru Usman and Neil Magny

By Tom Taylor - June 17, 2018

UFC welterweight contender Jorge Masvidal isn’t particularly impressed by his fellow top-15 welterweights Neil Magny and Kamaru Usman. Masvidal went off on his two rivals on a recent episode of MMAjunkie Radio.

Magny started with Usman, diminishing the significance of “The Nigerian Nightmare’s” recent decision win over Demian Maia, who stepped up to replace the injured Santiago Ponzinibbio on short notice.

“That dude thinks he deserves a title shot beating Maia on two weeks’ notice,” Masvidal said (via BloodyElbow). “Awesome for you if that’s how you think.

“It’s funny because Usman was calling me out saying I had ducked him,” Masvidal said. “Basically, that’s calling me a coward. Now that I’m saying ‘let’s fight’, he doesn’t want to fight.

Masvidal also doubts the legitimacy of the broken hands Usman says he sustained in his fight with Maia.

“I saw him at Colby [Covington’s] fight [at UFC 225] – I thought he had two broken [hands],” he said. “That guy has to be better than Wolverine because he didn’t have any cast on. So that dude is Super Marvel X. I don’t know what the fuck he’s made out of. You broke two hands, and you don’t have no cast on? Wow, bro. That’s super powers, for real.”

Masvidal then took aim at Magny, who is perhaps his fiercest rival in the welterweight division.

“The only thing he’s fighting is fuckin’ diabetes, I don’t know what the fuck, but he ain’t fighting me, that skinny anorexic motherfucker,” Masvidal said.

Masvidal made similar comments about Magny on a recent episode of BJPENN.COM Radio, saying he’d fight him without a full camp if the opportunity came up.

“There’s two guys that I don’t need a camp or nothing for, and that’s [Michael] Bisping, [Neil] Magny and pretty much that’s about it,” he said. “Those guys, I’m there to fuck ’em up.”
