Jorge Masvidal was once one of the biggest stars in the UFC. While those days may have passed, he still knows a thing or two about star power.

Speaking on Deep Waters recently, Masvidal was promoted to share the five fighters he believes are the biggest stars in the UFC right now.

His answers might surprise some fans.

Jorge Masvidal names his top 5 UFC stars

“I got Ilia [Topuria], No. 1,” Masvidal said. “Chama [Alex Pereira] at No. 2 because that guy fights. Everybody knows, in Japan, in Korea, it doesn’t matter whether it’s Thailand or Japan. International, he is a star. He is an effing star, bro. Like, it’s crazy, man.

“No. 3, I’ll go with [Khamzat] Chimaev,” the former UFC welterweight contender added. “I think Chimaev is a huge star worldwide. “No. 4, I’m going to throw a curveball at y’all. But I think especially after his next fight, he’s going to be one of the biggest names, Sean Strickland, bro. And he’s got like that whole love and hate. He’s going to be up there.

“No. 5, I’m going to go with Charles Oliveira. He’s so famous worldwide. He’s got the whole Brazil on his back.”

Masvidal has not fought in the UFC since 2023, when he suffered a decision loss to Gilbert Burns. It was his fourth straight loss, after defeats to Colby Covington and Kamaru Usman twice.

Since then, Masvidal has fought just once, losing a boxing match to Nate Diaz in 2024. He lost the fight with a controversial decision.

Despite his long absence from the UFC, Masvidal has repeatedly stated he is negotiating a return to the promotion.
