Jorge Masvidal believes that Conor McGregor will get ‘smoked’ by Max Holloway in his competitive return to mixed martial arts.

As we know, Conor McGregor will be making his return to the Octagon after five years away this summer when he battles Max Holloway at UFC 329. While a lot of people have been quick to write the Irishman off, the fact that this contest will take place at 170 pounds certainly gives us reason to believe he could pull off an upset.

In equal measure, Max Holloway is an absolute machine, and he will do everything in his power to get his win back against McGregor. It’s really hard to say which way this is going to swing with so much time left until fight night, but for the UFC, all they will care about is that Conor will be making the walk at least one more time.

In a recent podcast, Jorge Masvidal weighed in on how he sees things playing out when McGregor gets in there with ‘Blessed’.

Masvidal’s view on McGregor vs Holloway

“I think Max smokes him like a brisket,” the former BMF champion said.

“I think Conor lives a certain lifestyle we’ve all seen,” Masvidal added.

“You can kind of tell it’s not for show, and it’s really his lifestyle.

“Max lives a completely different lifestyle. I’ve never seen Max at the club drunk. You never see him in the headlines for anything bad. That guy lives a different life where he is in the gym, family, gym family.

“I think that’s gonna pay the biggest dividends. You can be away from the sport for five years and come back like nothing happened if you live that life.”

Regardless of what happens, there’s no denying that this is now the biggest fight of the year in mixed martial arts – and that’s saying something given the competition both in and outside of the UFC right now.
