We reported yesterday morning that former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones had turned himself in to the Albuquerque PD, this after he received five traffic citations that had violated his parole sentence. According to new reports from both Ariel Helwani and Marc Raimondi, “Bones” is still in jail and has a hearing in front of a judge scheduled for 8am tomorrow morning (March 31).

Yesterday UFC pound for pound kingpin Jon Jones revealed that he had been given 5 tickets. Among them were tickets for drag racing, and an illegal modification to his car’s exhaust. Jones was scheduled to appear in court on April 5th, just over two weeks before his UFC 197 title fight against Daniel Cormier. While many wondered if Jones had violated his parole by receiving the 5 tickets, and how they would impact his UFC 197 title fight, TMZ has now confirmed that Jones has turned himself in to the Albuquerque PD at 10am today, and is being held in the county jail.

At Wednesday’s NSAC hearing, UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier expressed his concern over Herb Dean being the referee for his UFC 197 light heavyweight title fight with Jon Jones on April 23rd. Cormier explained that in the pair’s first meeting at UFC 182, Dean allowed the pair to remain clinched for what DC believed was an extended period of time. After Cormier voiced his concerns over Dean being the referee, the NSAC ultimately decided to leave Dean as the referee.

After the fight McGregor was gracious in defeat, offering no excuses for why he lost, and admitting that he panicked which resulted in an inefficient use of his energy. McGregor revealed post-fight that he would be returning to featherweight to defend his championship belt at UFC 200, however the UFC has yet to announce an opponent.
