Jon Jones responds to Daniel Cormier’s concern over UFC 197 referee assignment
At Wednesday’s NSAC hearing, UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier expressed his concern over Herb Dean being the referee for his UFC 197 light heavyweight title fight with Jon Jones on April 23rd.
Cormier explained that in the pair’s first meeting at UFC 182, Dean allowed the pair to remain clinched for what DC believed was an extended period of time. After Cormier voiced his concerns over Dean being the referee, the NSAC ultimately decided to leave Dean as the referee.
This lead to Jon Jones taking to Twitter to poke fun at DC’s “Excuse of the weak”.
