UFC veteran Drew Dober is hoping to extend his lightweight knockout record when he takes on Michael Johnson this weekend.

Tonight, he will lock horns with another man who has a similar reputation – Michael Johnson. Dober and Johnson have been around for quite some time, and it’s a near enough guarantee that they are going to make magic happen in the cage.

In a recent interview, Dober had the following to say about his upcoming clash with Johnson.

Dober looks ahead to Johnson fight

“It was inevitable,” Dober said at Wednesday’s media day. “We were going to fight each other. We talked about it years ago and why it hasn’t happened. The stars lined up. His fight fell through, and now he became available. I was looking for something. Paramount is blessing us with this opportunity. So, I’m glad it’s happening now and not earlier, and I honestly think I get the best version of MJ in this fight.”

As noted, Dober currently holds the record for the most lightweight knockouts in UFC history at 10.

“I think I have six more in me,” Dober laughed. “I just saw the grid of how all that plays out. Matt Brown has what, 13? It’s fun to think about. The fact that I was a part of that conversation has just dumbfounded me, and I cherish it. I’m not aiming for any long goals, but I’m planning on knocking out MJ and continuing it.”
