VIDEO | Conor McGregor goes belt hunting in hilarious cartoon parody

One of the biggest stories of 2016 was Conor McGregor becoming the first fighter in UFC history to hold titles in two weight classes concurrently.

For those with short memories, the Irish star won his first UFC title with a 13-second knockout of longtime featherweight champion Jose Aldo back in December of 2015. He won his second title just shy of a year later, when he walloped lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez to a second round KO in the main event of November’s UFC 205. Though the UFC has since stripped the MMA megastar of the featherweight belt, his holding both at the same time, however briefly, earned him a new page in his already long chapter of the MMA history book.

Over the course of his incredible run in the UFC, McGregor has suggested several times that he plans on winning multiple belts, even outside of the featherweight and lightweight divisions he’s traditionally called home. The Irishman’s outspoken, multi-divisional ambition has now inspired a hilarious cartoon parody, which was recently shared to Facebook by UFC color commentator Joe Rogan. This parody was created by Flashgitz.

In this cartoon, a crazed, belt-addicted McGregor goes out in search of more belts – not just UFC belts, but also the kind you and I use to hold up our pants. Watch it at the top of this article!

At the moment, McGregor is taking some time away from the limelight to start a family with long-time girlfriend Dee Devlin. While the Irishman enjoys this paternity leave, top lightweight contenders Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson are expected to fight for an interim belt, though this bout is not yet finalized. When McGregor returns, it will likely be against the winner of this planned interim title fight – perhaps in the UFC’s debut in Russia.

Who do you want McGregor to fight when he returns to the Octagon? Sound off, PENN Nation!
