Conor McGregor drops cryptic message on Twitter: "see you soon"
Tom Taylor - May 23, 2018
It’s been a long time since we’ve seen Conor McGregor fight. The Irish megastar has not fought since August of 2017, when he came up short in a headline-dominating boxing match with Floyd Mayweather Jr. If we’re talking about MMA bouts, it’s been even longer since the Irishman has competed, as he has not stepped into the cage since he knocked out Eddie Alvarez to capture the UFC lightweight title in November of 2016…

Karolina Kowalkiewicz received an "apology letter" from Conor McGregor, says she won't sue for bus attack
Tom Taylor - May 16, 2018
Back in April, in the buildup to UFC 223, Conor McGregor went berserk in Brooklyn, NY, throwing a dolly through a shuttle bus window in a crazed search for his rival Khabib Nurmagomedov. Unsurprisingly, the Irishman’s rampage left the bus’s passengers — a host of UFC 223 fighters — quite shaken. Some, like Ray Borg and Michael Chiesa, were even injured. In the wake of this incident, McGregor has issued apologies to a number of the fighters that were affected by his rampage. One of the fighters to receive an apology was UFC strawweight champ Rose Namajunas — though she wasn’t having it. Another was UFC strawweight contender Karolina Kowalkiewicz, who seems to have taken the Irishman’s attempt to make amends a little better.

From what I hear, GSP doesn’t want that Nate Diaz fight. For him to make 155 [pounds], which him and Nate Diaz would fight at in Los Angeles, it’s too much of a cut.

Paul Daley understands why UFC didn't cut Conor McGregor for Brooklyn bedlam: I respect Dana’s choice
Tom Taylor - May 8, 2018
Many fans and pundits felt that Conor McGregor‘s insane rampage in Brooklyn, which crescendoed when the Irishman threw a dolly through the window of a bus, should have resulted in his being cut from the UFC. This, after all, is how the UFC responded when British welterweight Paul Daley punched Josh Koscheck after the bell in 2010. In the end, of course, McGregor’s station as the biggest and most valuable star in MMA history assured that he received very little immediate kickback from the UFC — even if UFC President Dana White recently suggested McGregor might be punished down the road.

Brian Ortega Not a Fan of Conor McGregor Impersonators, "Just be you. You don't have to pretend"
Drake Riggs - May 2, 2018
When it comes to the top 145-pound fighters on the planet, there’s only one that’s better than Brian Ortega…and that might not even be the case come July. Once upon a time, a brash and outspoken Irishman stood atop this division as some may have forgotten. It feels like so long ago that he made the 145-pound limit…
Dana White says Conor McGregor vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov fight won't happen in Russia
Tom Taylor - April 30, 2018
One of the biggest possible fights in MMA at present is a showdown between new UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, and troubled former champion Conor McGregor. When considering possible settings for this fight, one of the most compelling options is Moscow, in Nurmagomedov’s native Russia. This is a territory the UFC has not yet ventured into, and one McGregor and his team have previously expressed interest in exploring themselves.
Dana White on whether UFC will punish Conor McGregor: we’ll see what happens
Tom Taylor - April 30, 2018
Earlier this month, Conor McGregor flew to Brooklyn, New York, and ran amok on a terrible rampage. This rampage reached a chaotic crescendo when McGregor threw a dolly through the window of a shuttle bus that was carrying his arch rival Khabib Nurmagomedov and a number of other UFC 223 fighters. McGregor’s attack caused injuries to both Ray Borg and Michael Chiesa, who were ultimately forced out of their fights as a result. In the wake of this crazed attack, Conor McGregor was charged with three counts of assault and one count of criminal mischief. He will be summoned back to New York this June 14 for his first court date. McGregor is also likely to experience some legal kickback from Borg, Chiesa, and anybody else who experienced damages as the result of his rampage.
Conor McGregor's coach: I'm sure we'll see that fight with Khabib Nurmagomedov
Tom Taylor - April 30, 2018
Conor McGregor has not fought in the Octagon since November of 2016, when he captured the UFC lightweight title with a second round knockout of Eddie Alvarez. This period of inactivity forced the UFC to strip McGregor of his lightweight title, and crown a new champion in the undefeated Khabib Nurmagomedov. Since Nurmagomedov won the lightweight title, demand for a potential showdown between him and McGregor has reached an all-time high. In the opinion of McGregor’s striking coach Owen Roddy, it’s a fight that’s likely to happen.
Coach updates on timing of Conor McGregor's comeback, potential opponents
Tom Taylor - April 25, 2018
When Khabib Nurmagomedov defeated Al Iaquinta in the main event of UFC 223, it meant that Conor McGregor was no longer the UFC lightweight champion. Ever since, we’ve all been eager to see what the future holds for the Irish star, and whether he might soon attempt to reclaim his former title from the new champ Nurmagomedov. Speaking to Chisanga Malata of Express Sport earlier this week, McGregor’s striking coach Owen Roddy updated on McGregor’s potential comeback. Despite the fact that Nurmagomedov recently stated preliminary talks had begun for a potential showdown with McGregor, Roddy says there’s still no movement on McGregor’s next bout.

In the wake of the UFC’s recent stop in Atlantic City, the promotion has updated its official rankings. As expected, Kevin Lee, who took out Edson Barboza in the main event, has moved into the lightweight top 5. Elsewhere in the rankings, Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov have both made seemingly arbitrary moves on the pound-for-pound list, while formerly ranked bantamweight Leslie Smith has removed from the rankings following her controversial UFC release. Khabib Nurmagomedov updates on potential Conor McGregor fight: "we're talking"
Tom Taylor - April 20, 2018
Perhaps the biggest fight possible in MMA at present would be a showdown between undefeated UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and former champion Conor McGregor. Apparently, talks are already under way to make that fight a reality. Speaking at a Q&A at a Russian University this week, Nurmagomedov suggested that there has been some contact between his and McGregor’s teams surrounding a potential fight. That said, he doesn’t plan on waiting around for the Irish star. If negotiations take too long, the lightweight champ seems content to direct his focus elsewhere.
Joe Rogan feels that Conor McGregor is "getting special treatment," and that's "f**ked up"
Tom Taylor - April 19, 2018
Earlier this month, former UFC lightweight champ Conor McGregor travelled to Brooklyn, New York for UFC 223, and promptly went ballistic. The Irishman ran amok inside the UFC 223 host venue, throwing a dolly through the window of a shuttle bus carrying a number of fighters, and injuring two of them. In the wake of this ridiculous incident, we’ve all been waiting keenly to see what kind of repercussions the Irishman will face from the UFC, the Barclay’s Center, the New York State Athletic Commission, and the fighters he injured.
