The UFC-ESPN era officially kicked off at the beginning of 2019. And just recently, they extended their partnership by two years and moved the UFC pay-per-view events exclusively to the ESPN streaming service, ESPN+. Simply put, that means that starting wit UFC 236 next Saturday night, all UFC pay-per-view events will only be watchable if you purchase a $4.99 monthly subscription to ESPN+. That is unless you want to go to your local sports bar to watch the event.

It is the best you can get in the world. Don’t give us fast food. Don’t deliver McDonald’s when we’re expecting a five-course meal. Don’t Donald Trump us. Give the people the filet, the mashed potatoes, the best food in the world. Cause you have it!

Speaking on a recent episode of his Below the Belt podcast, former UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub shared his belief that the Floyd Mayweather vs. Tenshin Nasukawa exhibition bout that topped the RIZIN 14 card on New Years eve was fixed. “I’ve seen better acting in pornos,” Schaub said bluntly on his show (transcript via BoxingScene.com). “Floyd’s just doing his thing, he’s the aggressor, so it’s not as hard to fake it. But Tenshin needs acting skills. They should have got someone to work with him on falling down, getting hit in the face, and all that.

For many, the moving of UFC 232 from it’s originally planned location of Las Vegas at the T-Mobile Arena to the Los Angeles Forum on a week’s notice means more than just a simple relocating. The reason for it was due to an ‘atypical finding’ in one of one half of the event’s main event, Jon Jones’ drug tests. Because of this, the Nevada State Athletic Commission declined him of his license thus prompting the UFC to move the show to California. A state where the returning former light heavyweight champion has a temporary license.

According to Brendan Schaub, a veteran of the UFC heavyweight division and the host of the Below The Belt podcast, the next fight of Conor McGregor is almost a done deal. Speaking on his podcast recently, Schaub claimed that, contrary to the recent comments of UFC President Dana White, Conor McGregor has indeed been offered a fight with fan favorite UFC welterweight and lightweight contender Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone next.

Daniel Cormier’s planned heavyweight title super fight with former UFC heavyweight champ and WWE star Brock Lesnar is unanimously expected to be a box office smash, but not everybody is expecting the fight to be competitive. Instead, it’s common opinion that Cormier, undeniably one of the best fighters ever to compete in MMA, will hand Lesnar a pretty lopsided whooping. Whether that’s accurate or not, former UFC heavyweight and current MMA analyst Brendan Schaub is confident of one thing: Brock Lesnar will be a tougher test for Daniel Cormier than his last opponent Derrick Lewis, who he submitted in the second round in the main event of UFC 230 last weekend.

UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov is in hot water. Shortly after submitting Conor McGregor in the main event of UFC 229 last weekend, the undefeated Dagestani dynamo vaulted over the cage and attacked McGregor’s teammate Dillon Danis. Moments later, McGregor began exchanging punches with several of Nurmagomedov’s cohorts inside the cage. It was a truly chaotic scene.

“I was on the plane the other day, man. And…have you seen Ray Borg’s son? His baby’s having these surgeries and I saw someone post a shirt that Ray Borg [made]. He posts a shirt [to his social media] and goes, ‘all proceeds from this shirt go to help me pay for my child’s medical bill’. And so someone goes, ‘Schaub look into this’ and so I click on it and I see it, you know, I have a two and a half-year-old son, I see his son on the respirator…broke my heart, man. So I [direct messaged] him…and Ray, I’m sure a buncha people hit you up, man. I DM’d Ray because he needs help with the medical bills, I will pay for your medical bills, Ray. I will cover it, man.

According to the USADA Athlete Test History Database, former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones has been tested just once in 2018 — that’s despite Jone’s previous failed drug test, and the fact that he’s recently been hinting at a comeback. Brendan Schaub is pretty unimpressed by that fact. The former UFC heavyweight went off on USADA on his Below the Belt podcast.

Former UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub is not impressed by the UFC’s affiliation with former NFL star Greg Hardy, who has recently been competing on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series as part of a developmental deal. In Schaub’s eyes, the efforts the UFC has put forth to promote Hardy would have been far better applied to World Series of Fighting veteran Nick Newell. “I just don’t understand. I don’t understand why he’s in that bulls**t Contender Series,” Schaub said of Hardy on his Below the Belt podcast (transcript via MMA Fighting). “They’re just doing it for views. They’re riding and dying on Greg Hardy which is hilarious. It just shows you the nature of the business and what you’re dealing with with Dana White being a promoter.

Brendan Schaub drew a line in the sand with UFC President Dana White last Thursday in what might have been the most visceral social media clap-back of the year. A minor disagreement quickly escalated into all-out war between the UFC boss and former UFC heavyweight. It wasn’t the first time a former or current employee has raked White through the coals publically, and if history has taught us anything, it won’t be the last, either.

That’s not a way to run a business. That’s not the way to do things, it’s 2018. You just can’t do that. Why do you think all those people are reaching out to me? Why do you think this is getting so many likes? Why do you think this is the topic of all this stuff? Cause you’re a dick. And no one can say anything cause they’re scared to lose their job. I’m not. At this point, most fight fans know that UFC President Dana White and former UFC heavyweight turned podcaster Brendan Schaub are not fond of one another. This week, their tense relationship resulted in yet another skirmish — in the comments section on an Israel Adesanya Instagram post… It began when Schaub gave his take on the ability of elite kickboxers to transition to MMA. Adesanya, who is a kickboxing transplant himself, shared a clip of this segment of Schaub’s podcast, insinuating that he disagreed with what Schaub was saying.

“This is the problem. I hope that Project Spearhead is the one that breaks through and all the fighters get behind. Can you imagine if Conor [McGregor], Kevin Lee, Khabib [Nurmagomedov], DC [Daniel Cormier], Mighty Mouse [Demetrious Johnson], [Cris] Cyborg, Holly Holm, Rose [Namajunas]… Anyone I just named, if they just did this. Imagine how many waves this would make. The problem is it’s Leslie Smith doin’ it. How sad is that to say? It’s a form of bullying but for whatever reason, our sport puts up with it.
