Schaub is one half of the Fighter and the Kid podcast with fellow comedian, Bryan Callen but he also has started up his own podcast to talk all things involving the sport he once competed in. On this week’s episode of the Big Brown Breakdown, Schaub discussed the latest news and discussed the recent action as usual. But he also took a moment to talk about the UFC’s often criticized ranking system.

Till had the biggest fight of his life for his first UFC main event against fan favorite Donald Cerrone and made a statement by stopping “Cowboy” in the first round by TKO. Brendan Schaub has never been afraid to heap praise on UFC lightweight champ Conor McGregor. On Saturday’s special UFC Rotterdam Fight Companion edition of The Joe Rogan experience, Schaub did just that once more, explaining the he believes McGregor will have an incredible amount of sway in future negotiations with new UFC owners WME-IMG. “Conor has changed the game for the better, especially if you’re the fighter,” Schaub told Joe Rogan (h/t MMAFighting.com). “With WME, he’s steering the ship. Think about it, he made over – the numbers have come out and they’re saying it’s gonna be the biggest pay-per-view of all time – so he made $100 million, right? So you’re telling me if you’re Conor, and you’re part of his team you’re gonna go, ‘Hey, fight Nate Diaz for $5-10 million and also, we need you to wear this Reebok and they’re gonna pay you $100,000 a year.’ You think Conor’s gonna [do that]? You’re crazy.”

Big fights can turn even the best of friends against each other. Conor McGregor boxing Floyd Mayweather pitted two groups of the most die hard, passionate fans clashing with polar opposite takes. Sure, it’s easy for fans to get heated in debates with each other about scoring, who did what, and the ins-and-outs of a fight we have a lot of emotional stake in, however, even the fighters in attendance and those working the event aren’t immune to these types of altercations. In 26 days, UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor will step into the boxing ring for the first time. His opponent in this professional debut will not be another green fighter, however, it will be undefeated boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. While McGregor is a tremendously talented mixed martial artist, he’s not being given much chance in this boxing match with Mayweather. The majority of fans and pundits seem to be leaning toward a dominant Mayweather win. That said, there are some notable members of the community who do foresee some success for McGregor, such as former UFC heavyweight Brendan  Schaub. Schaub weighed in on the fight in a recent interview on The Kicker and even went so far as to bet a “dick pic” on McGregor’s success.

In advance of this Rousey comeback, many members of the MMA community have offered up their predictions on the fight. One of the big stories to emerge from Saturday night’s UFC 205 – a card that was particularly rich in big stories – was the retirement of female mixed martial arts trailblazer Miesha Tate. Tate’s retirement followed a decision defeat to the streaking Raquel Pennington, who she coached on season 18 of The Ultimate Fighter. Prior to this decision loss, Tate surrendered the UFC women’s bantamweight title to Amanda Nunes, succumbing to a first-round rear-naked choke.
