While Penn nearly finished Siver in the second round, he ultimately came up short in this comeback bout, losing a majority decision. But after BJ Penn and Caol Uno fought to a draw in the finals, the UFC dissolved the entire division. Shortly after BJ Penn came up short to Dennis Siver in late June, he was attacked on social media by an undeniably classless Nik Lentz. While Penn chose not to engage Lentz on this one, his good friend Joe Lauzon couldn’t let Lentz’s comments slide. Replying to Lentz on Reddit over the weekend, Lauzon absolutely brutalized Lentz with a fiery comment that challenged the lightweight’s legacy, and reminded him that Penn whooped him during their brief stint training together.

The latest to do so is our very own BJ Penn, who shared his thoughts on this possible boxing match in an interview with Chris Taylor. “I would think in a straight boxing match Floyd would have to have the advantage,” Penn said of this possible showdown. “But Connor is younger, bigger, and in his prime, and in combat sports all it takes is one punch. That’s the way I look at it.”
