Benoit Saint Denis has declared that he expects the best version of Dan Hooker when they collide at UFC 325.

Throughout the course of his UFC career, Benoit Saint Denis has been seen as an interesting contender in the lightweight division. Alas, following on from a few notable setbacks, some wondered whether or not he had the toughness necessary to really kick on and become a title challenger.

Alas, after nice wins over Mauricio Ruffy and Beneil Dariush, Saint Denis is once again a real player at 155 pounds. In his next outing, he will face off against Dan Hooker this weekend at UFC 325 in what could serve as a real showcase moment for him.

In a recent interview, Saint Denis had the following to say about his upcoming showdown with ‘Hangman’.

Saint Denis looks ahead to Hooker fight

“We were pretty surprised by the timing of the fight, but knowing it’s next to his country, it made it more clear why they wanted him to fight there,” Saint Denis told reporters at UFC 325 media day (h/t MMA Crazy). “I was already on holiday in my mind, and I put the switch back on because I mean, BSD-Dan Hooker, you need no promotion. It’s going to be a scrap.”

“He’s going to find out Saturday,” Saint Denis said. “I don’t know how many knockouts he has in the UFC. I have four, and I have a 100 percent finish rate, and it’s a mix between submissions and knockouts. So, I think he knows. He knows it’s going to be something. I think I will fight the best version of him – I hope so, and may the better fighter win.”
