Tonight’s UFC 325 event was headlined by a men’s featherweight title fight rematch between Alex Volkanovski and Diego Lopes.

Volkanovski (28-4 MMA) was returning to action for the first time since reclaiming the promotion‘s featherweight title with a unanimous decision win over Lopes at last April’s UFC 314 event in Miami. That victory had snapped a two-fight losing skid for ‘The Great’, as Volk had previously suffered back-to-back knockout losses at the hands of Ilia Topuria and Islam Makhachev respectively.

Meanwhile, Diego Lopes (27-8 MMA) was competing for the first time since this past September, where he scored a second-round TKO victory over Jean Silva (see that here). The Brazilian had gone 6-1 over his past seven Octagon appearances prior to tonight’s rematch, with his lone loss in that stretch coming against Alex Volkanovski.

Tonight’s UFC 325 main event proved to be another stellar performance from the veteran and champion Alex Volkanovski. ‘The Great’ was able to get the better of Diego Lopes throughout the 25-minute affair, this while utilizing some good footwork and nice counters to nullify the challenger. After five-rounds of action, it was clear that Volk had once again done enough to hear “And Still” from UFC ring announcer Bruce Buffer.
