Joe Lauzon set for first fight since 2019 on Bare Knuckle FC’s Fenway Park card

UFC legend Joe Lauzon will return to fighting for the first time in seven years, this time in the bare-knuckle ring.
Joe Lauzon’s arrival to the UFC, fresh off his performance on The Ultimate Fighter 5, came at a pivotal point in Mixed Martial Arts history. By the time Lauzon made his final UFC Octagon appearance in October 2019, the UFC had transformed into a global powerhouse in combat sports.
Lauzon had three separate scheduled bouts against UFC Hall of Famer Donald Cerrone canceled in 2022, unceremoniously ending his promotional tenure. His last MMA win came against Jonathan Pierce by first-round TKO in what stands as his final UFC fight.
Lauzon, 42, is now looking to make a fighting comeback in a new venture – bare-knuckle boxing. As announced by Bare Knuckle FC on Friday, Lauzon will compete at the promotion’s upcoming event at Fenway Park in Boston, close to Lauzon’s hometown.

“Getting the chance to step back into the spotlight, especially in Boston, was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up,” Lauzon said in a press release.
“The thing that got me really excited was fighting at Fenway Park. I’ve fought in Boston before and I fought at TD Garden, but there’s something special about competing on the field at Fenway. I grew up a Red Sox fan, played baseball as a kid, and watched the Red Sox win the World Series while I was in college. To have the chance to fight there is pretty incredible.”
As of this writing, Lauzon’s opponent hasn’t been announced by BKFC.
Lauzon becomes the latest UFC legend to make the transition to bare-knuckle, adding to the likes of Mike Perry and Ben Rothwell. He amassed a 28-15 professional record in MMA.
