Ilia Topuria goes nuclear on Paddy Pimblett following UFC 324 loss to Justin Gaethje

Ilia Topuria was watching the UFC 324 main event, and he was not impressed by Paddy Pimblett’s efforts.

Pimblett shared the Octagon with Justin Gaethje for the interim UFC Lightweight Championship. The interim title fight was booked when Topuria went on hiatus to deal with a situation at home. While many thought it would be “The Baddy’s” night, Gaethje ended up scoring a unanimous decision victory.

After the fight, Topuria hopped on his X account to throw shade at Pimblett for being unable to make their grudge match a reality.

“Little sausage, the only thing you had to do was beat a 38 year old guy,” Topuria said. “You just lost the biggest paycheck of your life. You were going to get rich if you won. Justin, all I can say is congratulations… and I’d like to tell you to get ready, but you’re screwed no matter what.”

Fight fans now wait to see when Topuria will make his return to action. When he does, a title unification bout with Gaethje awaits. Topuria’s boxing skills have led to spectacular knockouts against the likes of Max Holloway and Charles Oliveira. Gaethje’s punching power is always a threat.

Topuria hasn’t gone the distance since June 2023 when he defeated Josh Emmett via unanimous decision. He has knocked out his last three opponents. Gaethje’s last finishing win was back in July 2023 when he delivered a head kick to Dustin Poirier.

Pimblett will need to go back to the drawing board. While he was able to withstand punishment, “The Baddy” simply couldn’t hurt Gaethje enough to make him take his foot off the gas. Pimblett certainly had his moments in the fight, however, and perhaps he’ll be looking to build on the positives.
