Tyson Fury believes Francis Ngannou is more of a dangerous opponent than Oleksandr Usyk will be.

Fury is set to return to the ring on Saturday night in Saudi Arabia as he takes on the former UFC heavyweight champ in Ngannou. It’s an intriguing matchup and one that Fury is a massive favorite in, given the fact that it is Ngannou’s boxing debut.

Along with that, Tyson Fury has already agreed to fight Oleksandr Usyk, likely in December. Although Fury has his next fight booked, he does think Ngannou is more dangerous than Usyk, as he knows he can’t take a clean punch from the former UFC champ.

“A lot of people are on about this undisputed fight, fantastic. But I have a much more dangerous person to deal with on next Saturday than I do after for the undisputed fight, I believe,” Fury said to ESPN. “Because Francis is a bigger man, stronger, more powerful and has knockout capability. As we’ve seen with Oleksandr Usyk, he doesn’t really do much damage to people he hits. So you could probably let Usyk punch you all about the head and he’ll give you a black eye. If you let Ngannou punch you all about the head, he’s probably going to rattle your brain for you.”

Tyson Fury is likely correct that Francis Ngannou would be a bigger power puncher than Oleksandr Usyk, which does make him more dangerous. Yet, oddsmakers believe Fury vs. Usyk is a much closer fight than ‘The Gypsy King’ vs. Ngannou will be, but Fury is the betting favorite in both fights.

Fury enters this fight coming off a TKO win over Derek Chisora last December. He’s currently 33-0-1 as a pro and also holds notable wins over Deontay Wilder, twice, Otto Wallin, Wladimir Klitschko, Christian Hammer, and Dillian Whyte among others.
