Soccer legend Wayne Rooney is reportedly interested in stepping into the Misfits Boxing ring. The former soccer player is one of the most recognizable UK athletes in the last few decades. Having retired as a player, Wayne Rooney later moved on to managerial roles. A former coach of Derby County and D.C. United, he accepted a job with Birmingham City last year.

Boxing legend Mike Tyson is still utterly terrifying well into his late 50s. ‘Iron Mike’ hasn’t been seen in the ring since an exhibition boxing match with Roy Jones Jr. in November 2020. That fight was Mike Tyson’s first in over 15 years, and he looked great. While the two men fought to a draw that night on pay-per-view, the former heavyweight champion looked like he hadn’t missed a step.

It appears that Canelo Alvarez and Jermall Charlo will meet in the boxing ring later this year. The Mexican superstar has been out of the ring since a unanimous decision victory over Jermell Charlo last September. The victory was Canelo Alvarez’s third in a row, previously defeating John Ryder and Gennadiy Golovkin. Months on from the super middleweight champion’s latest win, he will reportedly fight his last opponent’s brother, Jermall Charlo.

Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia will finally meet in the boxing ring on April 20th. ‘The Dream’ and ‘KingRy’ have a lengthy history together, dating back to the amateurs. Before the two were professionals, they met six times. Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney walked away from that series with three victories apiece, but it seems that they’ll get to break the tie in April.

The father of Teofimo Lopez wasn’t thrilled with the strategy put forth by “The Takeover’s” opponent Jamaine Ortiz. Lopez and Ortiz had a lackluster fight inside the Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada this past Thursday night. There wasn’t much offense in this one, as Ortiz was on his bicycle and Lopez couldn’t cut off the ring. This made for a bout that very few fight fans will want to remember. In the end, this one went the distance and Lopez was awarded the unanimous decision win, retaining his WBO junior welterweight gold in the process.

The Brit pulled out of the fight, due to a brutal cut he sustained last week in sparring. That boxing match was set to crown the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis, who accomplished the feat two decades ago.

There, he will face Marlon Vera in his first title defense. Sean O’Malley famously captured the gold with a second-round knockout win over Aljamain Sterling last August. Now, he will look to avenge his one career loss to ‘Chito’ next month.

As a result of a nasty cut sustained by Fury in training, their collision will now take place on May 18.

Many figured that the boxer retired from fighting, mainly to focus on his run for President of the Philippines.

On Triller Fight Club pay-per-view in November 2020, he fought to a draw with fellow legend, Roy Jones Jr.
