Throughout the course of 2017, conflicting reports have continued to emerge regarding the status of a potential Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather boxing superfight. While offers have been made on both sides, neither party has been able to reach an agreement. With that being said, the NSAC revealed recently that they were aware of ongoing negotiations between the two parties. This was followed up by a statement from UFC President Dana White this week, in which he stated that he was confident a fight between McGregor and Mayweather would be official, saying:

Throughout the course of 2017, conflicting reports have continued to emerge regarding the status of a potential Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather superfight in the boxing ring. While Mayweather and the UFC President both made one another offers, neither offer was pleasing to both men, and as a result talks appeared to die down. Shortly after however, the NSAC confirmed that while a fight was still far off from being finalized, negotiations between the two parties were ongoing. This has then been followed up by several conflicting reports of whether or not a fight was close, with both Mayweather and White saying that a fight was far from official.

UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping recently shed a bit of light on the ever-confusing reports regarding a potential Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather boxing superfight following a statement from UFC President Dana White that revealed a fight between Mayweather and McGregor is far from being finalized. That followed a statement from Floyd Mayweather in which, he stated that if McGregor truly wants to fight, he should sign the papers:

Along with the updates regarding the potential scrap, have come predictions for the fight. While most believe that in a boxing match, McGregor won’t be able to compete with Mayweather, famed boxing trainer Freddie Roach recently stated that McGregor’s power and youth could very well make this an interesting fight. Unfortunate news surfaced this week that undefeated prizefighter Floyd Mayweather’s house was targeted in Las Vegas while the iconic boxer was off in California celebrating his 40th birthday. According to TMZ, the burglars escaped with quite a few expensive purses and an expensive watch which totaled around $150,000. Unfortunately, details at the present time are rather scarce and there has been no word on whether or not any arrests have been made in connection to the robbery.

Throughout the course of 2017, the combat sports community has continued to receive updates regarding a potential Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather superfight. To kick off the year, Floyd Mayweather offered Conor McGregor $15 million to fight him in a boxing match, which UFC President Dana White quickly shot down as he countered Mayweather with an offer of $25 million for both men. ‘Money’ quickly laughed off White’s offer, saying that he would not fight for less than $100 million.
