Former Boxing star Adrien Broner was at the center of one of Jon Jones’ latest controversial moments outside of the Octagon since retiring.

Former two-division UFC champion Jon Jones’ exclusion from the upcoming White House card led to bitter animosity between him and UFC CEO Dana White. Jones recently asked for his release from the UFC after contract negotiations fell apart for a fight at the White House, but as of this writing, his request has yet to be fulfilled by the promotion.

In the meantime, Jones remained retired from professional Mixed Martial Arts, and a return to fighting doesn’t seem imminent. After hanging up the gloves, at least temporarily, Jones turned his attention towards other ventures outside of the Octagon.

But during his legendary run in the UFC, Jones was known for repeated missteps outside of the Octagon, almost as much as his accomplishments inside the cage. While Jones hasn’t been in trouble with the law in recent years, he has a long history of run-ins, including in Las Vegas.

According to former boxing standout Adrien Broner, he nearly got into an all-out fist fight with Jones while partying recently in Las Vegas.

Adrien Broner claims Jon Jones ‘nearly felt his left hook’ in Las Vegas altercation

In a recent live stream, Broner explained his version of what happened with Jones at a recent Las Vegas party.

“He cussed me out real bad that last time I was with him,” Broner said of Jones.

“He was real drunk. He was just intoxicated. I wouldn’t let that go with anybody else, but it was him, and I’m like, ‘I know he’s drunk.’ I don’t give a f— if it’s Jon Jones or anybody. He was cooked. He was so drunk.

“He’s good, but he almost felt my left hook that night. It was bad,” Broner continued on Jones. This was not too long ago in Vegas. He was drunk and just talking s—. He’s talking and yelling. I’m like, ‘What the f—, bro?’” (h/t Bloody Elbow)

As of this writing, Jones hasn’t responded to Broner’s claims. Jones is expected to be in Gable Steveson’s corner for his highly anticipated UFC debut next month at UFC 329.
