Ronda Rousey belittles ‘brat little sister’ Kayla Harrison as she shares origins of longtime feud

UFC Hall of Famer Ronda Rousey opened up about her long-standing feud with former roommate and Judo rival Kayla Harrison.
Just weeks away from her highly anticipated return to MMA, Ronda Rousey has reignited a longtime feud with UFC women’s bantamweight champion Kayla Harrison. Before Rousey and Harrison became stars inside the Octagon, they were two of the brightest stars in Judo, and competed against each other at the 2005 U.S. Judo Championship.
Two decades removed from their time on the mats, things are tense between Rousey and Harrison. Rousey recently went off on Harrison at a recent press conference after the UFC champion accused the UFC Hall of Famer of ‘lying’ about some of her Judo accolades.
After their fiery recent back-and-forths, Rousey believes she’s a significant reason for Harrison’s success in MMA and reminded the UFC champ of their past relationship.
Ronda Rousey ‘unwillingly’ involved in Kayla Harrison’s traumatic past
In a recent video uploaded to her YouTube channel, Rousey opened up about her complicated relationship with Harrison dating back several decades.
“So when she moved into the house, she was going through a straight-up mental health crisis. And I don’t think anything that went down then ever deserves to be under public scrutiny. But when she was going through it, I was unwillingly going through it with her,” Rousey said of Harrison.
“So I wish her the absolute best in life and all of the success and all the things over there. I wish her the best. I just don’t want to be involved…She’s coming and talking s— about me and Gina. I’m like, ‘Dude, we’re doing nothing but help you. We’ve done nothing but help you.’ I literally have, like, a vested interest in developing the heavier divisions.
“I’m trying to feed you. Stop biting my f—— hand. I’m trying to help you out, man. But she’s kind of like my brat little sister in a way where I’m just like, ‘Don’t come for me, OK? Momma’s working.’ I’m going to have to give you a learning if you’re going to want to f—— start some s—,” Rousey continued on Harrison. “Dude, you’re not the biggest fight (for me). Gina’s the biggest fight. It also benefits (Harrison), all of this. Now she’s got a higher profile than she’s ever had. You’re welcome. Go figure out how to do something with it.” (h/t MMA Junkie)
As of this writing, Harrison hasn’t responded to Rousey’s latest taunts. She’s targeting a return to the cage, likely against Rousey’s former rival Amanda Nunes, later this year.
