In the sport of MMA,  one of the many factors heading into a fight is the dreadful weight-cut. Chris Weidman is coming into UFC 194 under 194 lbs. Preparation and discipline were essential for the lighter than normal champ.

Weidman completely cut out some of his vices like drinking to ensure his prediction of being the best middleweight ever. The (13-0 MMA) blackbelt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, under Renzo Gracie and Matt Serra, has more than his hands full against the former Strikeforce champ Luke Rockhold.

The challenger spoke with mmajunkie radio regarding his weight:

“I’m more like a 170-pounder,” Weidman said. “I weigh like 192, 193 (pounds) in the morning. I’ve got my weight down really low for this one. I really didn’t get out of shape between fights, and it kept my weight down low. I’ve been just living a healthy lifestyle. I don’t drink anymore, so I think that keeps the weight down, too.”

“The All-American” will take advantage of the preparation and well-earned easy weight cut of 7-8 lbs if he keeps his weight where it is going into the final week of the fight. On paper, this fight is close, the brutal damage, expected.  Enjoy the preview video. How do you see the fight going down?
