VIDEO | Jessica Eye gets physical and pushes Bethe Correia at UFC 203 weigh-ins

Things really got heated up at the fan and media weigh-ins for UFC 203 late on Friday.

A scrappy UFC women’s bantamweight matchup between former title contender Bethe Correia and Jessica Eye takes place on the FS1 prelims. Things got physical between the two during the weigh-ins as the two were about to face off.

Eye walked up to Correia for the faceoff as Correia stepped in with her fists up. As that happened, Eye shoved Correia back away from her and the two were quickly separated by UFC President Dana White.

Eye is looking at her fight with Correia as a do-or-die type of situation.

“I’m not being told that I’m getting cut, but I’m looking at it that way,” Eye said recently at the open workouts for UFC 203 (transcribed by MMA Junkie). “Listen, I know how the UFC is. They’ve got a business to run. I have my own business to run and lately I’ve been operating under crappy circumstances and underestimating myself. Now it’s time to turn it on. What a better place to be at this very moment than right here? I never used to be a crazy believer in god, but I’m a believer in energy and stuff. I believe there’s a reason I’m here under these circumstances and I’m fortunate. I really am.”

Meanwhile, Correia has her sights on another big fight in the near future.

“Even though I don’t like to fight a fellow Brazilian, I’d be proud to fight Cris Cyborg,” she told MMA Fighting. “I know I’m capable of beating Cris Cyborg. I don’t see her as an unbeatable opponent. I always watch her fights, and I see ways to win. I’d fight her, for sure.”

Correia will have to get through a tough task as Eye will be fighting like it’s her last chance.
