Friday afternoon at the UFC 205 early weigh-ins, UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor and UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley were involved in a brief situation which had the MMA community buzzing. Woodley walked past McGregor, who appeared to nod at Woodley. When ‘The Chosen One’ didn’t reciprocate the gesture, McGregor continued to eye the welterweight champ down.
The situation appeared to be an extremely tense one, which resulted in the pair then getting into a Twitter feud following the incident, with McGregor repeatedly calling the welterweight champ a “b***h”, as ‘The Chosen One’ continued to send verbal warnings McGregor’s way.
Near the time of the official UFC 205 ceremonial weigh-ins, the men ran into each other backstage once again, and things were tense once again, as McGregor continued to call Woodley a “b***h”, something Woodley had cautioned him against doing earlier in the day.

The pair of course are slated to fight different opponents Saturday night, with McGregor looking to make history as the first simultaneous two-division champion when he steps into the Octagon against UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez in hopes of becoming the first simultaneous two-division UFC champion. Woodley on the other hand will be stepping into the Octagon to fight Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson in the co-main event of the card, where he hopes to secure his first title defense since winning the welterweight championship against Robbie Lawler earlier this year at UFC 201.
Despite the chances of the pair fighting being extremely low, this isn’t the first time Woodley and McGregor have clashed. After Woodley won the welterweight championship, McGregor called him a “bum”, which set ‘The Chosen One’ off. In addition, McGregor appeared to have crossed a line at the UFC 205 pre-fight press conference when McGregor stated that he was coming for ‘all the belts’ on the table. Including Woodley’s.
