Some fighters just have a tough time accepting defeat, and it looks like Georgian boxer Levan Shonia is one of those fighters.

Over the weekend, on the undercard of a high-stakes heavyweight showdown between Hughie Fury (cousin of Tyson Fury) and Kubrat Pulev in Sofia, Bulgaria, Levan Shonia stepped into the ring with undefeated Bulgarian Spas Genov.

Shortly after losing the fight, Shonia went berserk, briefly trying to goad Genov into a post-fight brawl. Shonia’s coach then tried to intervene, but was punched for his efforts to do so. Evidently unwilling to take this kind of abuse from his student, the coach then thwacked Shonia in the head, only to dodge a few followup punches from his boxer, clinging to the ropes in an effort not to fall backward into press row. The referee then rushed to the aid of Shonia’s coach, and luckily did not receive any further abuse from the fighter.

As Mirror points out, Levan Shonia is likely to face discipline from from the Bulgarian boxing authorities for this bizarre temper tantrum.

According to boxrec, this was Levan Shonia’s second loss in a row, and his 12th in a 27 fight career. If this journeyman has this difficult of a time accepting defeat, it might be time to consider another career path.
