UFC 327 headliner Carlos Ulberg admits preparing for ‘unpredictable’ Jiri Prochazka is tricky

Carlos Ulberg believes he’s left no stone unturned ahead of his UFC 327 title fight, but he knows how crafty Jiri Prochazka can be.
Ulberg and Prochazka will take center stage in the main event of UFC 327 on Saturday in Miami. The two will collide for the vacant UFC Light Heavyweight Championship. It’s a short notice fight for both men with Alex Pereira vacating the 205-pound gold in an attempt to capture the interim heavyweight title on June 14.
During an interview with UFC.com, Ulberg admitted that preparing for Prochazka in a short period of time has been no easy task. Still, Ulberg has been expecting a world title shot for a long time.
“Yeah, there’s no real preparing for a particular fighter like Jiri,” he said. “He’s very unpredictable. We do have some looks that can give us what we need for this particular fight. It was a short notice to take this fight on – especially it being a world title fight, five rounds. But we’ve been preparing for this fight for years now. We’ve seen it happen. We’ve seen that Jiri could be a possible opponent, whether it be for the title or not; he would be someone in my path.
“We’ve always been ready. We know we’re ready when we go in there. It’s just about getting the job done and handling business.”
Ulberg earned his opportunity thanks to a nine-fight winning streak. In his most recent fight, “Black Jag” scored a first-round knockout victory over Dominick Reyes. The win improved Ulberg’s pro MMA record to 13-1.
