UFC 326 headliner Charles Oliveira puts his resume above Khabib Nurmagomedov

As Charles Oliveira gears up for another pivotal fight in his Hall of Fame-worthy career, he’s putting his resume over elite names, such as Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Oliveira is set to meet Max Holloway on Saturday with the BMF Championship on the line. The bout will headline UFC 326 inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. For Oliveira, it’s a chance to jump back into title contention and possibly become a two-time UFC Lightweight Champion by the end of 2026.
Ahead of fight night, Oliveira spoke to the UFC on Paramount+ crew. During the interview, the former 155-pound champion explained why he’d put his resume higher than the likes of UFC Hall of Famer Khabib Nurmagomedov and reigning welterweight titleholder Islam Makhachev (h/t MMAJunkie).
“Each and every one of us and them has their moments and their eras,” Oliveira said. “You talk about Khabib who stepped away from the game undefeated. Islam is making history, two-division champion, but when you look at the resume, the wins, the records, and what I’ve been through, I believe that my resume is the best.”
Oliveira actually shared the Octagon with Makhachev back in Oct. 2022. Makhachev submitted the Brazilian legend in the second round to lay claim to his first UFC title in the lightweight division. Oliveira and Nurmagomedov never got a chance to mix it up.
As it stands now, Oliveira is a betting underdog for his rematch with Holloway. The two first met back in 2015, but that bout never got a chance to blossom. Oliveira suffered a freak injury to his esophagus and the bout was quickly called off. Over a decade later, both men have developed into legends in the sport of MMA.
