Sean Strickland puts blame on UFC for not controlling ‘third world dog’ Khamzat Chimaev

Sean Strickland thinks UFC deserves blame if things get out of hand between himself and Khamzat Chimaev.
Strickland is scheduled to challenge Chimaev for the middleweight gold in the UFC 328 headliner on May 9. This one goes beyond the 185-pound hardware, as there is some high animosity between both combatants. Chimaev has threatened to take things to the streets, while Strickland has warned that he would shoot “Borz” and his team if they try to jump him.
The intense and personal war of words have led some to be concerned about safety during media week. If it gets to that point, Strickland places the blame on UFC, as he noted in his latest rant on X.
“The UFC is trying to limit my interactions with the dog.
“Listen I will say this now. I will not be controlled by a third world dog…. If I find there is unequal treatment between our camps I will walk to the lobby and wait for him.
“Control your whore or dont. I dont care. Let the chips fall where they may this is America…”
Chimaev’s coach recently told MMAFighting that Strickland’s gun talk is “nonsense” because he doesn’t believe things will ever reach that point of violence. He even said Chimaev laughed off the warning from Strickland.
Whether or not the UFC brass can keep things under control ahead of fight night remains to be seen. There’s also the possibility that tempers could flare in the post-fight aftermath. That’s what occurred after Khabib Nurmagomedov submitted Conor McGregor back in 2018. A brawl between the teams ensued.
UFC CEO Dana White has even admitted that extra security will be on hand for the media day festivities in an effort to keep things between Strickland and Chimaev under control.
Ultimately, do you think things will get physical during media week or even post-fight? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
