Caio Borralho envisions KO win over Dricus du Plessis: “He has some defensive openings that can be exploited”

Caio Borralho is looking for a quick path to UFC gold, and a knockout win over Dricus du Plessis might do it.
After defeating Reinier de Ridder via unanimous decision at UFC 326, Borralho is already looking at what’s ahead. The next fight for du Plessis hasn’t been determined, and “The Natural” believes he’d be the right dance partner.
In an interview with MMAFighting.com, Borralho said if he’s matched up with du Plessis and wins, he’d make a strong case for a UFC middleweight title shot.
“He hasn’t fought in a while and said he might fight in June or July,” Borralho said. “I think it’s the perfect fight. If I beat a former champion of Dricus’ caliber, I’m right there on the doorstep for the belt.”
Not only does Borralho wish to defeat “Stillknocks,” he wants to finish the fight in emphatic fashion.
“I want the knockout,” Borralho said. “I’m really enjoying the stand-up now. I want to trade punches and knock him out. He’s a very hard guy to knock out, he’s got an incredible chin, but I think he has some defensive openings that can be exploited, especially with my boxing style. I’m going for the knockout.”
Borralho’s last knockout win was back in May 2024. He iced Paul Craig in the second round of their UFC 301 clash. The finish earned Borralho a “Performance of the Night” bonus.
In du Plessis’ most recent outing back in Aug. 2025, he was given a grappling clinic courtesy of Khamzat Chimaev. “Borz” controlled du Plessis for nearly 22 minutes on his way to a UFC Middleweight Championship win. “Stillknocks” is hoping to rebound in convincing fashion when he steps back inside the Octagon.
