Alexa Grasso set to return at Noche UFC event versus former title challenger

Former UFC flyweight champion Alexa Grasso will return to the Octagon at the promotion’s upcoming Noche UFC event.

Alexa Grasso made a strong case for another flyweight title shot when she earned a ‘Knockout of the Year’ contender against Maycee Barber in March at UFC Seattle. Grasso bounced back from three straight winless outings to finish the streaking Barber and return to the flyweight title picture.

As of this writing, UFC women’s flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko’s return to the Octagon remains uncertain after she defeated Zhang Weili at UFC 322 last year. Top contender Natalia Silva will likely be Shevchenko’s next opponent after recent wins over Rose Namajunas, Jessica Andrade, and Grasso.

In the meantime, Grasso and other rising contenders are looking to strengthen their cases for another title shot. As the UFC’s annual Noche UFC event quickly approaches, Grasso will play a key role as she prepares to fight one of Shevchenko’s former rivals.

Alexa Grasso vs. Manon Fiorot added to Noche UFC on September 12th

Grasso will face flyweight contender Manon Fiorot at Noche UFC 4 on September 12th in Glendale, Arizona. MMA journalist Marcel Dorff was the first to report the news of the Grasso vs. Fiorot booking.

As of this writing, it’s uncertain if Grasso vs. Fiorot will serve as the card’s headliner.

Fiorot returns to the Octagon for the first time since finishing Jasmine Jasudavicius at UFC Vancouver in October. She lost by unanimous decision to Shevchenko in her lone UFC title shot last year at UFC 315.

Fiorot has earned recent wins over Erin Blanchfield, Katlyn Chookagian, and Jennifer Maia inside the Octagon. A win over Grasso could potentially earn Fiorot another title shot against the Shevchenko vs. Silva winner.

Grasso vs. Fiorot is the only fight confirmed for Noche UFC 4, and the card is expected to be fully announced and finalized in the coming weeks.
