UFC Mexico City: ‘Moreno vs. Kavanagh’ Live Results and Highlights

By Chris Taylor - February 28, 2026 at 2:50 PM PST // 0 Comments

The Octagon returns south of the border for tonight’s UFC Mexico City event, 13-bout fight card headlined by Brandon Moreno vs. Lone’er Kavanagh.

Moreno (23-9-2 MMA) will enter this evening’s main event looking to rebound, this after suffering a TKO loss to Tatsuro Taira in his most recent Octagon appearance at December’s UFC 323 event in Las Vegas (see that here). Prior to that setback, the former flyweight champion was coming off back-to-back wins over Amir Albazi and Steve Erceg.

Meanwhile, Lone’er Kavanagh (9-1 MMA) was last seen in action last August in Shanghai, where he suffered his first career loss at the hands of Charles Johnson. Prior to being KO’d by ‘InnerG’, the English fighter had gone a perfect 9-0 which included two wins, both by decision, under the UFC banner.

UFC Mexico City is co-headlined by a men’s bantamweight contest featuring former title challenger Marlon Vera taking on David Martinez.

Vera (23-11-1 MMA) will enter the bout with hopes of snapping a 3-fight losing skid. During that rough stretch, ‘Chito’ has dropped decisions to Sean O’Malley, Deiveson Figueiredo and Aiemann Zahabi.  The Ecuadorian’s most recent win came back at UFC 293 in August of 2023, where he defeated Pedro Munhoz by way of unanimous decision.

Meanwhile, David Martinez (13-1 MMA) will enter tonight’s co-headliner sporting a nine-fight winning streak, with his most recent triumph coming over Rob Font by way of unanimous decision this past September. Prior to that, ‘Black Spartan’ had made his Octagon debut against Saimon Oliveira, a fight which he won by first-round TKO.

Also featured on this evening’s UFC Mexico City main card is a lightweight bout between King Green and Daniel Zellhuber.

Green (33-17-1 MMA) was most previously seen in action this past December, where he scored a split decision win over Lance Gibson Jr. That victory snapped a two-fight losing skid for the 39-year-old veteran, who had previously suffered stoppage losses at the hands of Paddy Pimblett and Mauricio Ruffy (see that here).

Meanwhile, Daniel Zellhuber (15-3 MMA) will enter tonight’s contest with hopes of snapping a two-fight losing skid. ‘Golden Boy’ is coming off back-to-back decision losses to Michael Johnson and Esteban Ribovics in his most previous Octagon appearances. Prior to those setbacks, Zellhuber had strung together three straight wins, which included a submission victory over Christos Giagos.
