UFC 218 Embedded Episode 4: Holloway Channels His Inner Assassin, Ngannou Evolves

UFC 218 is now just two days and with that comes episode four of the UFC’s popular fight-week series that lets fans in on what goes down in the week leading up to fight night.

The latest installment drops in on UFC 218 featherweight champion Max Holloway as he visits the tailor to pick up his custom suit for fight night. The relatively new champion is enjoying the riches that come with being one of the best in the world and is tasked with the Sophie’s choice between two Hawaiian-themed cufflinks to go with his personalized suit. Treasures well earned over an 11-fight win streak that culminated in a knockout victory over Jose Aldo.

World’s scariest man Francis Ngannou graces then screen to reflect on how he plans to overcome technique by incorporating his unique way of thinking in to his evolution as a fighter and martial artist. He looks extremely confident and poised as he heads in to the biggest fight of his career against MMA champion, Alistair Overeem.

Justin Gaethje is shown warming up in a dressing room as mid-week weigh-ins carry on around him. “I’d rather lose by knockout than win a boring decision”, Gaethje states. Gaethje seems frighteningly sincere in his feelings towards this weekend’s fight with former UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez. Gaethje hopes that Alvarez doesn’t come in looking for a tactical win and instead wants a ‘fight for the ages’.

This installment concludes with the open workouts as the top four fighters billed on the UFC 218 card show off for the fans. Overeem and Ngannou seem larger than life, while Aldo and Holloway have contrasting demeanors in the wake of the biggest rematch in featherweight history.

UFC 218 takes place at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan this Saturday.
