Terrance McKinney questions his lack of UFC performance bonuses

UFC star Terrance McKinney has given his thoughts on never receiving a Performance of the Night bonus from the promotion.

For the longest time now, Terrance McKinney has been easily one of the most entertaining action fighters in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He goes out there to put on a show, with a live by the sword, die by the sword kind of mentality that you rarely see these days.

In his most recent venture, McKinney was able to tear through Kyle Nelson in just 24 seconds to record yet another impressive finish to add to his collection. He came flying out of the gate and while that strategy doesn’t always pay off for him, it certainly did on this occasion.

In a recent interview, McKinney spoke about both the nature of the win and the fact he hasn’t yet managed to get a performance bonus from the UFC.

“I took my time,” McKinney laughed. “I’m just a fast person. It’s always going to look like I’m going crazy a little bit. But we were only going to throw straight punches, get in his face, because we know he likes to throw overhand. When he’s uncomfortable, he throws that looping hook. We were going to use straight punches every time. We knew they were going to land. We did our probe, so he’d throw the overhand. We got him with a knee to the liver and threw the head kick and that’s all she wrote. Especially in that city, the crowd was erupting. They showed love, and hopefully I can get on that card again one day.”

When asked directly about his lack of performance bonuses, he had the following to say.

“I don’t know,” McKinney said. “Maybe I’ve got to be the first person to kill a person or something inside the cage.”
