The MMA community was devastated earlier this year when it was revealed that UFC light heavyweight Ryan Jimmo had been struck and killed by a vehicle in a parking lot in Alberta Canada.

According to the reports, Jimmo was involved in a brief verbal dispute with the driver of the vehicle, and as he was walking back to his car, the man decided to run him over with his car. Jimmo was taken to the hospital, and later died as a result of his injuries.

The man driving the car, Anthony Getschel, was charged with second-degree murder, criminal negligence causing death, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death, and failing to stop at the scene of an accident causing death. With all that being said, it seems strange that the man was just recently granted $1,000 cash bail that requires him to report to a “bail supervisor” within 48 hours according to the Edmonton Journal.

In addition, it is being reported that Getschel may not drink alcohol, go to bars, have contact with any witnesses in the case, or drive a motor vehicle.

Shortly after the news surfaced, there was immediately outrage on the internet as a result of the man getting bail, let alone bail set at such a low amount.

Jimmo was MIA from the Octagon for over a year prior to his death. While he made his spectacular UFC debut in 2012 by knocking out Anthony Perosh, Jimmo went 3-4 with the promotion, ending his stint with the promotion on a 2-fight losing streak before being released in 2015.
