Will Ronda Rousey return to the Octagon in 2016?

By Russell Ess - May 11, 2016

Former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey has not fought in the Octagon since losing her championship belt to Holly Holm at UFC 193 back in November.

While Rousey has stated that she had an interest in fighting in the big New York card at the Madison Square Garden at UFC 205 later this year, UFC President Dana White is still unsure when “Rowdy” will step back into the Octagon.

White spoke on “The Dan Patrick Show” on Wednesday and addressed everything from the reported sale of the UFC to the Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight. White also spoke about Rousey’s future in fighting.

“Ronda’s going to come out and let us know when she’s ready to fight again,” White said when questioned if she will fight in 2016.

“I say it all the time, from the time I decided to bring women into the UFC, no fighter has worked harder than Ronda Rousey over the last three years other than probably Conor McGregor. So she deserves the time off,” White added.

While Rousey has taken time off from fighting to film movies, she has been spotted in training out on Venice Beach recently.

Will we see Ronda Rousey return to the Octagon this year? At this point, it seems only Ronda Rousey may have the answer.
