Former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey will make her long awaited octagon return in less than two weeks when she challenges Amanada Nunes for the women’s 135-pound title in the main event of UFC 207 on December 30 in Las Vegas.
Rousey has not competed since her shocking knockout loss to Holly Holm, which occurred in the main event of UFC 193 in November of 2015.
Prior to the jaw-dropping setback, Ronda Rousey had gone undefeated in the sport, this while steamrolling her competition – earning all but one of her wins via first-round stoppages.
“Rowdy” will now face possibly the stiffest challenge of her mixed martial arts career in the form of current UFC women’s bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes.
The first ever UFC women’s Brazilian champion has won four-straight fights, her latest being a title-earning first-round stoppage of former champ Miehsa Tate at July’s UFC 200 event in Las Vegas.
Prior to her destruction of “Cupcake”, Nunes had earned a decision victory over surging contender Valentina Shevchenko at March’s UFC 196 event.
Earlier this evening, Ronda Rousey took to her official Instagram where she posted a photo from her most recent training session in which she looks to be in absolutely incredible shape just 12 days away from her UFC 207 showdown with Amanda Nunes.
