A light heavyweight scrap between Anthony Smith and former division champion Rashad Evans served as the featured bout of tonight’s UFC 225 fight pass prelims from Chicago.
Rashad Evans entered tonight’s contest on a four fight losing streak and sported a record of 19-7-1 overall.
Meanwhile, Suga’s opponent Anthony Smith has gone 3-1 over his past four fights.
Round one begins and Smith lands an early jab followed by a low kick. Evans comes out in a karate type stance. He shoots in for a takedown but Smith avoids. Rashad comes forward and presses Smith against the cage. He is working for a takedown. Smith fires off a knee and it connects! Rashad crashes to the floor and Smith follows up with a ground strike before the referee steps in and stops the contest. What a finish for Anthony Smith.
