During a recent Paramount+ UFC panel, Poirier matchmaked the UFC light heavyweight division and paired Costa up with a former title challenger.

“I don’t know if it makes sense, but if I was a matchmaker, I think Paulo and Khalil Rountree is a fun one!” Poirier said of Costa’s next bout.

Khalil Rountree Jr. hasn’t fought since a loss to Jiri Prochazka at UFC 320 last year. Another intriguing fight for Costa would be former title challenger Dominick Reyes, who squeaked out a win over Johnny Walker at UFC 327.

Costa has plenty of intriguing options for his next light heavyweight fight. After Carlos Ulberg’s title win, Costa’s path to a light heavyweight title shot could be one win away from coming to fruition.
