The UFC wasn’t the only Mixed Martial Arts promotion to deliver fireworks in the past 24-hours. Emerging MMA promotion One FC returned to PPV last night and delivered in a major way. Not only did the card feature the return and victories of Jens Pulver and Shinya Aoki amongst others, it also gave us a highlight soccer kick KO.

ONE Fighting Championship (ONE FC) Asia’s premier Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) organization impressed a sold-out Singapore Indoor Stadium with ONE FC: RISE OF KINGS. The largest MMA event held to date in Singapore proved to be a night of unforgettable action with a series of world class battles inside the famous ONE FC cage. The highly-anticipated debut of Japanese MMA superstar Shinya Aoki ended in success as the Japanese fighter defeated Arnaud “The Game” Lepont with a triangle choke submission in just 1:25 minutes of round 1. After suffering a setback in his last fights, Aoki looked to have regained his winning ways as he entered the cage with confidence and proceeded to dominate the fight early by bringing the on-rushing Frenchman to the ground and making him fight where Aoki is most dangerous. Once on the ground, Aoki applied a triangle choke to finish Lepont in impressive fashion.

With all the recent talks of Anderson Silva vs. Every Other Champion In the UFC, one super-fight that actually has a better shot at transpiring is the Ronda Rousey vs. Cris “Cyborg” bout. The hang up in this fight is the weight-class. Ronda Rousey currently holds Strikeforce gold at 135 pounds. “Cyborg” on the other hand held onto her championship reign at 145 pounds before being stripped of her title for performance enhancing drugs.

Last night on FX the UFC held a stellar card full of drama and upsets. From Jeremy Stephens remaining in jail and unable to perform, to Travis Browne blowing out his knee in the midst of a high kick, the UFC on FX event left us with many story lines this morning.

Yesterday during our UFC 152 pre-fight press conference coverage we shared a statement from UFC light-heavyweight champion, Jon Jones. In the statement the champion stated clearly that the UFC brass did not notify him of the UFC 151 cancellation and while the champ admits, it may not have made a difference in his decision process, it was information that should have been passed on.
