Veteran UFC featherweight Chad Mendes has been in the middle of the drama unfolding between Team Alpha Male star Urijah Faber and former teammates T.J. Dillashaw and Duane Ludwig. Mendes who is on good terms with both sides is sticking with Faber at Team Alpha Male but says that everything has been blown way out of proportion. “Money” Mendes spoke on the MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani recently and revealed his feelings on the drama (transcribed by MMA Fighting):

After Ronda Rousey’s devastating UFC 193 loss to Holly Holm that left the former champ with quite a few injuries there was much speculation as to whether or not Rousey would return to the Octagon. After a brief period of silence, Rousey revealed that she would be returning to the Octagon after filming several movies in Hollywood. While the UFC brass would have liked to see a Holm vs. Rousey rematch at UFC 200, due to Rousey’s film schedule that isn’t possible.

It was recently announced that MMA veteran Jason “Mayhem” Miller will be returning to fight in the cage once again. It has been nearly four years since “Mayhem” last fought an MMA bout. His unanimous decision loss to C.B. Dollaway at UFC 146 in May of 2012 was his last appearance fighting but has been through quite a bit of trouble with the law since then.

At UFC 194 Holly Holm put on a nearly flawless performance against Ronda Rousey topped off with a 2nd round KO to claim the UFC women’s bantamweight championship. While the UFC brass would have liked Holm and Rousey to have their highly anticipated rematch at UFC 200 in July, Rousey’s busy film schedule won’t give her enough time to prepare for a fight at UFC 200, let alone the biggest fight of her career.

After Fedor Emelianenko’s successful return to MMA on New Year’s Eve against Jaideep Singh under the Rizin FF banner, fans began calling for ‘The Last Emperor’ to fight a high-profile opponent. Emelianenko revealed after the bout that he would in fact be fighting again, most likely in April, and that he would prefer it to be under the Rizin banner once again.

Yesterday it was announced that CM Punk would be forced to undergo back surgery, and would be sidelined for 4-6 months. Immediately, the MMA world became concerned that Punk’s UFC 200 fight with Mickey Gall would have to be postponed due to the injury due to the fact that Punk wouldn’t have enough time to recover.

In the 5th round of Dominick Cruz’s ‘UFC Fight Night: Boston’ main event scrap with TJ Dillashaw, Cruz seemed to re-injure his knee. While the MMA world was extremely concerned that Cruz re-tore his ACL, the newly crowned UFC bantamweight champion revealed post-fight that it was a foot injury.

Dominick Cruz reclaimed the UFC bantamweight championship last month after defeating TJ Dillashaw via split decision at ‘UFC Fight Night: Boston’. Immediately after winning the title, Cruz found himself being called out by his nemesis Urijah Faber. While TJ Dillashaw wanted an immediate rematch given how close the fight was, Cruz seems to prefer a trilogy bout with Faber instead.

It was announced last month that UFC middleweight #1 contender Yoel Romero had failed a drug test following his fight with Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza at UFC 194 in December. Romero was suspended indefinitely while the UFC and USADA made sense of the situation before the NSAC set a date for a hearing with the NSAC.
