Last night in the co-main event of Bellator 149 Kimbo Slice and Dada 5000 had their highly anticipated grudge match. Ultimately, Slice was awarded the win after Dada 5000 hit the ground from apparent exhaustion. Dada 5000 was then taken out of the cage via a stretcher. While the reaction from the MMA community wasn’t exactly a good one, Tito Ortiz managed to win big with a bet he placed on Kimbo Slice.

In the main event of Bellator 149 Ken Shamrock and Royce Gracie stepped into the cage to fight for a third time. The fight was a short one, that ultimately saw Gracie awarded the TKO win after landing some ground and pound on Shamrock. The controversy however came due to the fact that many noticed that Shamrock was hit in the groin before being taken down.

MMA veteran Wanderlei Silva has been out of action since his March 2013 KO win over Brian Stann in Saitama Japan. Silva was handed a lifetime suspension from the NSAC after evading a drug test. Silva then accused the UFC of fixing fights which subsequently resulted in them freezing his contract.

It has been almost exactly a year since Cat Zingano lost her UFC 184 women’s bantamweight title fight to Ronda Rousey. Since then Zingano has been on an indefinite leave of absence, even going to Thailand to work on her striking. While there’s been no official word yet on when Zingano will return to the Octagon, her manager says it will likely be soon.

Apparently former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones was given a “huge break” from Albuquerque, New Mexico police. Police clocked Jones going 75 mph in a 35 mph zone and the former champ didn’t have any proof of insurance, registration for the vehicle, or his driver’s license at the time of the stop.
