UFC women’s strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk has been busy training for her upcoming rematch with top contender Claudia Gadelha. The bitter rivals, Jedrzejczyk and Gadelha, just recently completed the filming of The Ultimate Fighter Season 23, where they served as opposing coaches.

On Friday night we broke the news that current UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier had suffered an injury and would no longer be able to defend his title against Jon Jones at UFC 197 on April 23. Yesterday, UFC officials announced that Ovince Saint Preux would be stepping up on short-notice to challenge Jon Jones for the UFC’s interim light heavyweight title at the event (UFC 197).

UFC featherweight contender Max “Blessed” Holloway (15-3 MMA) feels a little ‘left out’ following the recent UFC 200 bookings for fellow division contenders Frankie Edgar and Jose Aldo, who will meet for the interim featherweight strap on July 9 in Las Vegas. Thursday evening news broke that Daniel Cormier had injured his knee in training and would no longer be able to compete in his scheduled UFC 197 title defense on April 23rd against Jon Jones. Surprisingly, Jon Jones wished DC a speedy recovery, and it is expected that the pair will meet in the future when DC is healthy and able to defend his belt.
