ODDS: Jon Jones opens as a massive favorite over OSP

By Chris Taylor - April 3, 2016

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones (21-1 MMA) will return to the octagon for the first time in over a year when he squares off with Ovince Saint Preux (19-7 MMA) in the main event of UFC 197 for the promotions interim light heavyweight title.

“OSP” has gone 3-1 in his past four octagon appearances. His most recent effort saw him score a unanimous decision victory over former Strikeforce champ Rafael Cavalcante at February’s UFC Fight Night 82 event. Prior to that, Saint Preux was submitted in the third-round by Glover Teixeira at UFC Fight Night 73. “OSP” also holds first-round knockout victories over “Shogun” Rua and Patrick Cummins.

Meanwhile, Jon Jones will look to continue his dominance that has seen him earn victories over a handful of former UFC champions including Vitor Belfort, Lyoto Machida, Rashad Evans, Shogun Rua, Quinton Jackson and most recently Daniel Cormier.

“Bones” has opened as a massive favorite over “OSP”, as 5Dimes has Jones listed as a -500 favorite and Saint Preux as the +800 underdog.

So, if you bet $500 on Jones to win you would make $100. If you opted to bet on the underdog “OSP”, $100 would earn you an $800 payout if Saint Preux pulled off the upset.

Do you think “OSP” can upset Jones on short-notice at UFC 197? Sound off PENN Nation!
