This will be a rematch for the two former champions, first meeting at UFC 156 back in 2013. Aldo won a unanimous decision, but Edgar says many others saw the fight in his favor.

UFC pound for pound kingpin Jon Jones has had his share of legal troubles, however he feels that the recent traffic stop which landed him in jail for 3 days was unnecessary. Jones was ultimately released from jail and ordered to complete anger management courses, as well as driver awareness classes. In addition, Jones must now get permission from his probation officer before driving anywhere.

Last week news surfaced that Daniel Cormier would no longer be able to fight Jon Jones in the main event of UFC 197 after suffering a knee injury in training. It was revealed that DC would be out for 3-6 weeks, which subsequently lead to the UFC selecting Ovince Saint Preux as a fill-in opponent for Jones on April 23rd.

Former UFC fighter Rousimar Palhares grappled in the main event of Polaris 3 event in Poole, England over the weekend in the main event against Garry Tonon. The two fought an exciting match to a draw, but Palhares has been getting a lot of attention from an interview he did with Sportsmail about a fight with UFC superstar Conor McGregor. “I would consider returning to the UFC just to fight McGregor,” Palhares said. “I would kill him. He is too small and weak in Jiu Jitsu to beat me. It would be a privilege to fight him but I would dominate with my ground game and submit him easily. When I play the fight In my head I see him giving in from a foot hold.”

It was reported on Friday that Cormier suffered an injury in training and would not be able to fight on the scheduled April 23rd date for UFC 197 against Jones. The UFC revealed shortly after that Ovince Saint Preux would step in on short notice to fight Jones for the interim title in the main event of UFC 197.

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones has a bad history with driving. Most recently, an alleged drag racing incident ended up getting Jones locked behind bars for three days for violating his probation that he was on for a previous hit-and-run accident. One would think that it would be best for a successful former champion like Jones to have a full-time personal driver with having such a history behind the wheel. It sounds like that is now the case, according to Jones’ head coach Greg Jackson.

It was announced by the UFC that Ovince Saint Preux would be stepping in as a late replacement for Cormier to face Jones in an interim title fight. Cormier spoke with Ariel Helwani on the MMA Hour on Monday and surprised everyone when he invited OSP to join AKA in preparation for the bout with Jones.
