Late Wednesday evening it was announced that Miesha Tate and Amanda Nunes would be fighting at UFC 200 for Tate’s UFC women’s bantamweight championship. UFC President Dana White took to Instagram shortly after the fight was announced to reveal a pretty awesome promo poster for the fight, which goes down on July 9th.

After Tony Ferguson withdrew from his UFC on FOX 19 headlining scrap with Khabib Nurmagomedov, there was much speculation as to who, if anyone, would step in on short notice to fight ‘The Eagle’. Unsurprisingly, Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone was quick to step up and offer to fight Nurmagomedov, however shortly after the UFC booked the bout, Cerrone reportedly injured a rib according to Khabib. Cerrone then took to Twitter to announce that he is not injured, which prompted Khabib to show his signed contract.

After the UFC announced that Conor McGregor vs. Nate Diaz II would headline UFC 200, and that Jose Aldo and Frankie Edgar would fight for the interim featherweight title, Dana White announced that fans could expect a women’s title fight. Late Wednesday evening, it was announced that Miesha Tate would defend her UFC women’s bantamweight championship against Amanda Nunes on the UFC 200 card on July 9th as well.

It appears that Conor McGregor has officially started his camp for the rematch with Nate Diaz slated for the main event of UFC 200 that takes place on July 9th in Las Vegas, Nevada. McGregor’s coach John Kavanagh posted this photo with the caption saying, “The road to #ufc200 starts today…3yrs to the day from debut.”

Dhafir “Dada 5000” Harris had to be carried out on a stretcher after his fight with Kimbo Slice at Bellator 149. It was for good reason. Harris suffered multiple severe health conditions after the fight and was in critical condition. According to a post on Harris’ Facebook page, he was hospitalized for nearly two weeks after the Feb. 19 bout with Slice.

Last week news broke that UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier had been forced out of his UFC 197 main event bout with Jon Jones on April 23rd due to an injury sustained in training. The UFC ultimately selected Ovince Saint Preux as a fill-in opponent against Jones, and made the bout for the interim championship while Cormier took 5-6 weeks to recover.

Of course, there was concern that the UFC wouldn’t be able to find someone willing to step in on such short notice to fight Nurmagomedov, however the one and only Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone has thrown his name into the mix of potential short-notice opponents for ‘The Eagle’.
