UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor is the biggest draw currently in the UFC with the records to back it up. So, when the UFC announced that they pulled “The Notorious” off UFC 200 for his refusal to take part in media obligations to promote the fight, a lot of people were scratching their heads.

While Conor McGregor was just pulled from UFC 200 less than 2 weeks ago, Nate Diaz believes that McGregor was never actually in the fight. McGregor announced his retirement on social media, leaving many fans confused. UFC President Dana White then announced on SportsCenter that McGregor had been pulled from UFC 200 for refusing to fulfill his media obligations for the event. While there has been quite a bit of back-and-forth between McGregor and the UFC, the UFC brass has stuck to their guns and refused to give into McGregor’s demands.

At UFC 200 on July 9th, Jose Aldo and Frankie Edgar will fight for the interim UFC featherweight championship, with the winner facing Conor McGregor for the undisputed featherweight championship at a later date. Aldo and Edgar met once before at UFC 156 back in 2013 for Aldo’s featherweight championship. Ultimately, Aldo was given the nod in the fight, which was awarded Fight of the Night honors.
